Province - State: Alberta
Leaving Grande Prairie head south on Highway 40, through Grande Cache, onto Hinton and into Jasper. Highway 40 is 2 lane highway with parts of the road having narrow to no shoulders.
We stayed in Jasper over night at the Best Western, walking distance to downtown night life. The hotels in Jasper during riding season is none as Peak Season so the price of rooms are expensive. We stayed 1 night and carried on down the highway. Could easily stayed for 2 as there is lots to see and do around Jasper.
Favorite Restaurant / Pub / Place to stop?:
We ate at the Jasper Brewing Company this time, pretty cool place, especially if you like beer! Food is really good with a good variety. The main street is FULL of cool restaurants and pubs with all types of food.
Fuel readily available?:
Leaving Grande Prairie, it is about 185km (115 miles) to Grande Cache, lots of fuel places there. From Grande Cache to Jasper is 210 km ( 130 miles ) if that is too far, Hinton has lots of gas stations (145km / 90 miles) from Grande Cache.

So many times Northern Alberta gets forgotten about, this route is a must do from the green lush landscape, the fresh air to the animals you may see (from a distance we hope). Don't be in a hurry as there is so much to "take in", great wind therapy road!
